Job Description
About Wood & Co.
Wood & Co. is a custom millwork and cabinetry company specializing in high-end residential interiors throughout Long Island, New York City, and the Hamptons. We work closely with builders, architects, interior designers, and homeowners on custom kitchens, built-ins, vanities, libraries, wall paneling, furniture, full-home millwork packages, and one-off pieces integrating wood, metal, glass, stone, and other specialty elements.
We are a detail-driven, design-focused company that values craftsmanship, communication, organization, and follow-through.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized, energetic, and design-forward Project Coordinator to work closely with the owner and support high-end residential projects from meetings through follow-up and execution.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants exposure to the design and construction world, especially high-end residential interiors, custom millwork, and client-facing project coordination.
The right person does not need to be a senior project manager. We are looking for someone polished, capable, detail-oriented, positive, and eager to learn. This person should be comfortable shadowing the owner, attending meetings, taking meticulous notes, organizing follow-up, preparing sample packages, helping with client presentations, and walking active job sites.
This role is ideal for someone who is interested in design, interiors, architecture, construction, or luxury residential work, and wants to grow by learning directly inside a small but highly specialized company.
Responsibilities will include:
- Shadowing the owner during client, builder, designer, and jobsite meetings
- Taking detailed meeting notes and organizing action items
- Preparing meeting recaps and follow-up lists
- Tracking open questions, decisions, samples, and approvals
- Helping prepare client-facing sample packages and presentation materials
- Organizing material samples, finish samples, labels, and presentation binders
- Assisting with site visits, project photos, field notes, and punch list tracking
- Field condition reports, field measurements, site sketches, and installation team mgmt
- Coordinating follow-up with clients, designers, builders, vendors, and internal team members
- Helping organize small field projects and special client requests
- Supporting high-end residential kitchen, cabinetry, millwork, and interior projects
- Maintaining project logs, task lists, and follow-up trackers
- Preparing for design meetings, conferences, client presentations, and site walks
- Helping ensure conversations turn into clear next steps
- Assisting wherever needed to keep the job, project, or day moving forward
This is a hands-on role. Some days may involve attending polished client meetings or design presentations. Other days may involve packing samples, walking a jobsite, organizing notes, picking up materials, or helping prepare a presentation package.
The ideal candidate is:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Positive, energetic, and proactive
- Polished and comfortable in client-facing settings
- Interested in interior design, architecture, luxury residential work, or custom millwork
- A strong note-taker and clear communicator
- Comfortable with both office work and active jobsite environments
- Willing to learn construction and project coordination through hands-on exposure
- Comfortable following up with clients, vendors, builders, and team members
- Practical, flexible, and willing to do whatever is needed to complete the day’s work
- Able to organize information clearly and keep track of many small details
- Professional, reliable, and trustworthy
- Coachable and interested in learning the Wood & Co. way
Helpful Experience
Experience in any of the following areas is helpful but not required:
- Interior design
- Architecture office support
- High-end residential construction
- Project coordination
- Custom cabinetry or millwork
- Design showroom or materials library
- Client service
- Construction administration
- Vendor coordination
- Presentation preparation
- Real estate, home renovation, or design-build environments
We are open to training the right person if they have the right attitude, organization, communication skills, and interest in the design/construction world.
What Success Looks Like
A successful person in this role will help turn meetings, site visits, and conversations into organized action.
