Software Engineer I [T500-29520]

Best Buy™ India is seeking a Software Engineer 1 to play a key role in delivering software products for Best Buy’s Repair Self Service and Adaptive Support team . You will work with Product Managers, User Experience Designers, Architects, and other team members to modernize and build products that align to the product team’s vision and strategy. The engineering of these products will leverage multi-cloud platforms, human centered design, Agile and DevOps principles to deliver industry leading solutions at high velocity with unrivaled quality. You will work on a team of talented software engineering professionals, leading by example, and mentoring others. All of this will be done by embracing inclusive behaviors, working through ambiguity, demonstrating a strong attention to detail, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Team Overview:

The Repair Self Service and Adaptive Support team exists to provide customers a seamless and easy path to clear solutions by presenting the right self-service content, tools and services with a frictionless handoff to Customer Care when needed, in order to ease their anxiety and give them a sense of control while demonstrating that Best Buy is there for them no matter what. The team supports the products in the App and Web for Know Me, Guide Me - Personalized & Services Notifications, Findability, Services/Scheduling flows, In-Store Appointments, In-Home Delivery/Installations and Services Tab.

• Independently complete small- to medium-sized features and defects
• Participate in team planning activities
• Able to triage simple issues independently, and more complex issues with some assistance

Requirements:

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s or associate degree, OR equivalent.
• Proficient with back-end development with Java and Spring Boot Frameworks
• Intermediate level Full Stack software development experience
• Experience of development in AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience with micro service development that produce/consume REST APIs
• Ability to triage and manage complex, production issues
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and frameworks
• Excellent communication skills, especially when working with a distributed team
• Ability to pair program with other team members.

Preferred:

• Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment
• Experience with GraphQL and event-driven design
• Experience in relational database and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Jira, GitHub Actions or Jenkins, Splunk or Kibana or similar tools.
