Senior Software Engineer

Swish is building the next generation of food delivery — delivering fresh, affordable meals to customers in 10 minutes.

We’re building a vertically integrated business across kitchens, supply chain, technology, and delivery. As we scale across markets, data plays a critical role in helping us understand customers, improve the product, and make better business decisions.

What you’ll work on

• Build and scale backend systems that power Swish’s ordering, kitchen, delivery and customer experience.
• Own projects end-to-end — from understanding the problem to designing, building, launching and improving the solution.
• Design reliable, scalable APIs and services that can handle growing transaction volumes.
• Work closely with Product, Design, Operations and Engineering teams to solve real business problems.
• Improve system performance, reliability, observability and engineering processes.
• Make technical decisions around architecture, databases, APIs and infrastructure.
• Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to simplify or automate existing systems.
• Review code, contribute to engineering standards and help raise the technical bar across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.

What we’re looking for

• 4–8 years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, databases and system design.
• Strong experience building and scaling backend systems and APIs.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Java, Python, Node.js or similar.
• Good understanding of SQL, relational databases and distributed systems.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and modern engineering practices.
• Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them to completion.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.

Good to have

• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD.
• Experience with event-driven systems, queues or streaming platforms.
• Experience working on consumer, e-commerce, food-tech or logistics products.
• Experience building and operating high-scale transactional systems.
