AI Quality Specialist – Location & Search Relevance (LBS & SBS)

TELUS Digital is seeking native English speakers to evaluate, refine, and improve artificial intelligence models for Location-Based Services (LBS) and Search-Based Services (SBS)

In this role, you will analyze query results, geographic accuracy, search intent, and local relevance to train next-generation mapping, search, and AI assistant technologies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated search results, map routing, and local business data for accuracy, intent, and cultural relevance.
• Perform side-by-side (SBS) evaluations comparing model responses against user search queries.
• Validate Location-Based Services (LBS) data, ensuring accurate geocoding, landmark context, and regional nuances.
• Grade and annotate datasets following strict guideline documentation provided by client projects.
• Identify edge cases, factual hallucinations, and spatial errors in AI outputs to improve model safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in any discipline (Humanities, Linguistics, Computer Science, Business, or related fields preferred).

Required Skills

• Language Proficiency: Native English speaker with deep familiarity with US English phrasing, local idioms, and regional cultural contexts.
• Geographic Knowledge: Strong understanding of US geography, regional terminology, and urban layouts (specifically target markets including Las Vegas, NV, Philadelphia, PA, and Arizona).
• Technical Setup: High-speed internet connection, a reliable personal computer/laptop, and a modern smartphone.
• Skills: Excellent web research capabilities, analytical thinking, strong attention to detail, and ability to strictly follow guidelines.
• Employment Type: AI Community- Freelancer (Flexible Remote).
• Location: Remote (Open to candidates residing in Nevada/Las Vegas, Pennsylvania/Philadelphia, and Arizona).

Preferred Skills

• Prior background in AI training, search engine evaluation, data annotation, or quality assurance.
• Familiarity with search evaluation concepts (e.g., query intent, relevance scoring, POI verification).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a flexible remote environment.

Assessment & Verification Requirements

Completion of subject-specific qualification assessment (practical audio/speech evaluation)

Identity verification (IDV) process – Required as soon as possible after application completion

Payment:

Currently, pay rates for experts range from $15- $40 USD per hour
