Job Description

Founded by a therapist, Smile Pediatric Therapy & Diagnostics has been providing therapy, assessments, and early intervention programs to infants, toddlers, and school-aged children—in clinic, home, and school settings—for over 10 years. Located near the Los Angeles areas of Los Feliz, Silver Lake, and Echo Park, we are currently hiring C e rtifi e d Pediatric Occupational Therapists (COTA’s). Competitive pay and flexible scheduling!

As a Certified Pediatric Occupational Therapist at Smile, your day is centered around helping children build independence, confidence, and functional skills that carry into everyday life. You might begin your morning in the clinic supporting a toddler with sensory regulation through movement-based activities, obstacle courses, or fine motor play. Later, you may be helping a student improve handwriting, attention, or classroom participation. In the afternoon, you could be coaching a parent - demonstrating strategies to support self-care routines, or transitions.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide direct occupational therapy services to children with fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, visual motor, and developmental delays. Each day, you will us e individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that are playful, purposeful, and functional. You’ll adapt activities in real time to meet the child’s sensory and emotional needs, collect data to monitor progress, and collaborate with families and oth e r staff m e mb e rs to ensure carryover across environments.

Beyond direct treatment sessions, your role includes completing session documentation, contributing to evaluations and reassessments, and assisting in developing progress and discharge reports. You’ll participate in parent trainings and collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other providers to create cohesive, child-centered treatment plans. Most importantly, you’ll celebrate the meaningful milestones—buttoning a shirt independently, tolerating new textures, improving pencil grasp, or successfully navigating transitions—that make this work so impactful.

We are looking for individuals who love working with children within a play-based, sensory rich nurturing environment, enjoy collaborating across different disciplines, and wish to grow within the company. Bilingual speakers please apply!

As a Smile staff member your benefits will include:

  • Highly competitive negotiated pay
  • Dedicated scheduling team to meet your needs
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance for full-time staff
  • Strong mentorship program with continuing education reimbursement
  • Life insurance & 401K
  • Health & wellness discounts/perks
  • Opportunities for growth and advancement including swallow certification mentorship
  • Initial and ongoing training/mentorship to all employees lead by multidisciplinary experts
  • Unique personal attention, mentoring, and career support we offer every member of the SMILE team

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide treatment within clinic-based, school based, and home-based settings
  • Complete session notes for daily treatment appointments
  • Participate in and/or conduct parent trainings
  • Assist in standardized testing for discharge and reassessment reports
  • Assist in monthly reports for clients (progress, discharge, and reassessment reports)
  • Conduct standard clerical/administrative duties

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • California licensure as a Certified Pediatric Occupational Therapist (COTA/L)
  • Have access to daily use of vehicle with at least minimum liability insurance (position involves driving to and from our center based location, client’s home/school/etc.)
  • Able to work within some of the following catchment areas: Silverlake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Korea Town, Downtown, Mid-Wilshire, Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, & more.

At Smile, you are not just managing a caseload—you are empowering children to participate more fully in their daily lives. Whether you are a newer clinician seeking mentorship or an experienced COTA looking for a collaborative and supportive environment, you will find both professional growth and meaningful purpose here.
