Position: Principal AI Engineer

Location: NYC, NY 3 Days WFO Employment: FULL-TIME ONLY Experience: 15+ YEARS REQUIRED Schedule: EST Overlap

Role Overview Looking for a Staff/Principal AI Engineer to lead enterprise-scale Agentic AI implementations for Fortune 500 clients.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on designing and deploying autonomous, tool-calling AI systems that operate reliably at enterprise scale.

Must-have Skills 15+ years of software engineering experience

Strong hands-on Python development

Strong backend/system language: Go, Rust, Java, C/C++ Strong Data Structures, Algorithms & System Design APIs, Microservices & Distributed Systems

Production-grade Data Pipelines AGENTIC AI / LLM

2+ years hands-on LLM Engineering Proven experience taking Agentic AI systems to production LangGraph / Google ADK / CrewAI / Claude Agent SDK or equivalent

MCP Servers & Tool Calling RAG chunking, embeddings, vector/hybrid retrieval & reranking

Vector DBs Pinecone / Milvus / Weaviate / FAISS Guardrails, validators, policy checks & self-correction

Deterministic fallbacks, circuit breakers & rollback strategies

OPTIMIZATION & EVALUATION

Token & context-window optimization

Latency & cost optimization

Caching, model routing, batching & streaming

LLM evaluation frameworks & regression detection

LangSmith / Langfuse Production observability & traceability

CLOUD & DEVOPS

Strong AWS ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift, Step Functions

Azure / GCP experience is a plus

CI/CD & DevOps

Terraform / CloudFormation Docker & production deployment

LEADERSHIP

Enterprise AI architecture & implementation

Client stakeholder communication

Technical roadmap ownership

Mentoring & technical leadership

Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments
