Senior Database Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain relational databases using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database management systems to meet evolving business needs.
• Develop and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines utilizing SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), Python, Java, and PL/SQL to ensure accurate and timely data processing.
• Create comprehensive data models and database architectures that support scalable data warehouses and facilitate efficient query management.
• Implement performance tuning strategies to improve system uptime, reduce latency, and enhance overall database performance through proactive monitoring and tuning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to develop innovative solutions for complex data challenges while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
• Conduct thorough analysis of existing database structures to identify opportunities for improvement in relational database design and data model efficiency.
• Manage cloud infrastructure components supporting databases, ensuring secure access, optimal configuration, and seamless integration with on-premises systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience in database development with a strong focus on relational database design, architecture experience, and data model design.
• Proficiency in SQL programming, PL/SQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and related query management tools.
• Hands-on experience with ETL process development using SSIS or similar tools; familiarity with Python or Java for scripting is a plus.
• Solid understanding of database management principles including high availability configurations, performance tuning, backup/recovery strategies, and system uptime improvement techniques.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure services supporting databases such as AWS or Azure is highly desirable.
• Strong analysis skills with the ability to translate business requirements into effective database solutions within an Agile framework.
• Experience working with Data Warehouses and Data Modeling techniques to support large-scale data analysis initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and stakeholders.
