Network Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Network Engineer to join our innovative IT team. Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and data center networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Configure and support network hardware such as Cisco routers, switches, ASA firewalls, Meraki devices, Juniper equipment, and other networking equipment.
• Implement and maintain network security protocols including Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), encryption standards, and vulnerability assessments to safeguard organizational data.
• Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk; troubleshoot issues related to equipment failures, network outages, or security breaches swiftly to minimize downtime.
• Manage routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP; optimize network routing for high availability and load balancing across multiple sites.
• Support remote access solutions including VPN configuration (IPsec, SSL), remote desktop access, and telecommunication systems to enable secure connectivity for remote teams.
• Collaborate with system administrators to integrate network solutions with operating systems like Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS), BSD variants, and virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Citrix.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in computer networking with a strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, SFTP, FTP, and SNMP.
• Hands-on expertise with Cisco networking hardware (routers, switches), Cisco ASA firewalls, Meraki cloud-managed devices; familiarity with Juniper or other vendors is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of network security practices including firewall management, IDS/IPS systems, SSO (Single Sign-On), multi-factor authentication methods such as SSO and LDAP integration.
• Experience with cloud security platforms like AWS or Azure; understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware or vSphere is highly desirable.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues using scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell; familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible is advantageous.
• Strong background in system administration across multiple operating systems including Windows Server environments and Linux distributions like Debian or openSUSE.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on high availability architectures using load balancing techniques and redundant configurations.
• Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) principles applied within DevOps practices for continuous integration/deployment related to network management solutions.
