Job Description
Diverse & Meaningful Part-Time Role
I’m looking for an exceptional, dependable person to become my trusted right-hand.
This is a long-term, part-time position (10–15 flexible hours per week) supporting my home office and rental properties. If we’re a great fit, I hope this becomes a long-term working relationship.
No two weeks are the same. One day you may be representing me on important phone calls with doctors’ offices, contractors, tenants, insurance companies, or businesses. The next, you may be coordinating property repairs, assisting with social media, organizing projects, accompanying me on errands or shopping trips, or helping coordinate volunteers for my annual Halloween display and fundraiser, which benefits a different nonprofit each year.
I’m looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, thinks independently, takes initiative, and follows through. If you’re the kind of person who naturally says, “I’ve got this,” and then gets it done, I’d love to meet you.
Hours & Compensation
- 10–15 flexible hours per week.
- Additional hours are often available from mid-September through mid-December during my annual Halloween display and seasonal projects.
- $28–30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Paid Personal/Sick days and Holidays.
Responsibilities
- Represent me professionally by making and receiving phone calls on my behalf.
- Communicate with doctors’ offices, insurance companies, contractors, tenants, vendors, and service providers.
- Coordinate property maintenance, repairs, and tenant communications.
- Manage a variety of administrative and personal projects from start to finish.
- Assist with writing, social media, marketing, and computer projects.
- Help organize my annual Halloween display, including recruiting volunteers, coordinating setup and takedown, and assisting with fundraising activities.
- Occasionally accompany me to appointments, meetings, errands, or shopping and provide assistance as needed.
- Occasionally help with my friendly 65-pound dog.
As I begin traveling again, I may occasionally need you to accompany me on trips to help with logistics, communication, and getting me settled before you return home—or, for longer trips, if you have the availability, to travel with me for additional support.
About the Position
I have a permanent speech impairment resulting from surgery, so you’ll often be my voice when communicating with others. Excellent communication skills, professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and follow-through are essential.
I’m not looking for someone who needs constant direction. I’m looking for someone who notices what needs to be done, communicates well, asks thoughtful questions when needed, and takes ownership of their work.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years as an executive, administrative, or personal assistant.
- Property management experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.
- Resourceful, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Spanish is a plus (or willingness to use a translation app when needed).
- Reliable transportation with proof of insurance.
- Non-smoker (including vaping).
About You
You’re organized, trustworthy, calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoy making someone else’s life easier. You communicate professionally, keep your commitments, and find satisfaction in solving problems and helping things run smoothly.
If you enjoy organizing events, recruiting volunteers, or community fundraising, you’ll have the opportunity to help make one of my favorite annual traditions a success.
You’re looking for more than just another job. You’d like to become an important part of someone’s team, where you’re trusted, appreciated, and your contributions truly make a difference.
You must love dogs.
