Legal AI Trainer — Remote Contract Opportunity

Rate: $75/hour during the fixed training period in the first week; $125/hour thereafter

Hours: 30–40 hours per week guaranteed

Duration: 3 months

Location: Fully remote; only U.S.-, U.K.-, and Canada-based candidates are eligible

Lawtrades is helping a leading AI human-data lab hire experienced legal professionals to train the next generation of legal AI.

This is a direct-placement opportunity: selected candidates will contract with and be paid directly by the client. Strong performers are frequently invited to continue on future projects after the initial three-month engagement.

This isn’t a traditional legal role. There are no clients, billable-hour targets, or court appearances. Instead, you’ll use your legal judgment and writing skills to help AI systems reason more like experienced legal professionals.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate and improve AI-generated responses involving legal research, contract analysis, and statutory and case-law interpretation
• Write clear, expert-level answers to legal questions for use as model-training examples
• Identify errors, unsupported conclusions, and ambiguities in AI-generated work
• Provide precise corrective guidance and stronger legal reasoning
• Work independently on a flexible, fully remote schedule

Who We’re Looking For

• Lawyers with 3–5+ years of substantive legal experience
• Professionals with litigation-heavy or contracts-heavy backgrounds
• Strong legal writers who produce precise, well-supported analysis
• Self-directed professionals comfortable working remotely
• Candidates with general familiarity with AI or large language model tools; everyday experience is sufficient
• Current or former practicing attorneys, including in-house counsel, BigLaw alumni, and lawyers between roles
• Senior paralegals with substantial legal drafting experience are also encouraged to apply

Compensation and Commitment

• $75/hour during a fixed training period in the first week
• $125/hour after completing the training period
• 30–40 hours per week guaranteed
• Flexible working hours, provided the weekly commitment is met
• Three-month commitment required
• Potential for continued flexible, project-based work following the initial engagement
