Job Description
Grow Your Existing Therapy Practice Through Intelligent Referrals
Thousands of people use Abby every day for emotional support. Many eventually recognize they’re ready to begin therapy, and we’re building a carefully vetted network of therapists to help meet that need.
Users consistently report that they are looking for therapists who understand their use of AI and can provide a judgment-free space to discuss how tools like Abby fit into their therapeutic journey. Abby helps connect users with therapists who are knowledgeable about Abby and aligned with their individual needs, goals, preferences, location, and availability.
This is a partnership opportunity for therapists who already provide outpatient therapy through their own practice or organization. Abby connects users with therapists who are likely to be an excellent fit, while therapists continue practicing exactly as they normally would. (how to apply at the bottom of page)
How the Partnership Works
When an Abby user decides they’re ready for therapy:
- Abby recommends therapists based on thoughtful, individualized matching.
- If a user chooses you, they’re referred to your existing practice.
- You complete your normal intake and determine whether the client is a good fit.
- Therapy takes place through your existing practice using your usual scheduling, documentation, billing, and clinical procedures.
- You maintain full control over your practice and client relationships.
Compensation
Therapists in the Abby Partner Therapist Network continue charging their normal private practice, agency, or group practice rates.
Abby does not take any percentage of your therapy session revenue. You set your rates, insurance company networks, and keep 100% of what you earn.
About Abby
Abby is an AI companion for thought companionship built with therapists and continuously evaluated and refined by therapists.
Our mission is to help people better understand themselves, access emotional support when they need it, and seamlessly connect with the right therapist when they’re ready for professional care.
We believe finding the right therapist shouldn’t be left to chance.
What Makes the Abby Partner Network Different?
Every Abby Partner Therapist completes a comprehensive therapist profile and preference survey that allows Abby to make thoughtful recommendations based on:
- Clinical specialties
- Therapeutic approach
- Preferred client populations
- Practice preferences
- Availability
- Location
- Personality and therapeutic fit
Rather than functioning as another therapist directory, Abby is designed to help connect each user with a therapist who is likely to be a strong clinical and interpersonal match.
Partner therapists also complete Abby-Informed onboarding, where you’ll learn:
- How Abby supports users
- How the referral process works
- How emotional support AI can responsibly complement therapy
- Best practices for working with clients who already use Abby
Users consistently tell us they value working with therapists who understand the role AI already plays in their emotional lives.
Because every therapist recommendation reflects directly on Abby, we’re intentionally building a selective network of clinicians committed to providing exceptional care. During this founding phase, we’re accepting only a limited number of therapists in each state.
About You
We’re looking for therapists who:
- Are licensed or pre-licensed and legally authorized to provide therapy under their state’s regulations.
- Are currently accepting new therapy clients or anticipate openings soon.
- Already practice independently or within an organization that manages scheduling, billing, documentation, and client care.
- Believe every client deserves to be thoughtfully matched with the right therapist.
- Are excited to be part of an innovative therapist community.
- Are open to learning how AI can responsibly support clients while preserving the therapist’s central role.
For Pre-Licensed/ Provisionally Licensed Therapists
Pre-licensed clinicians are welcome to apply if they are legally authorized to provide therapy under supervision in their state.
Applicants must already have an approved supervisor and practice setting that satisfies their state’s requirements.
