Postdoctoral Researcher – AI & IoT

GAO Group & Aperture Venture Studio are looking for recent PhDs and early-career researchers for a paid Postdoctoral Researcher position focused on AI and IoT.

The role focuses primarily on IoT systems, intelligent connected devices, edge computing, sensing and AI-enabled systems, with opportunities to turn research into practical prototypes, applications and potential commercial opportunities.

What You’ll Work On

• Conduct applied research in IoT and AI-enabled IoT systems.
• Investigate emerging IoT technologies, architectures and applications.
• Design and develop IoT prototypes and proof-of-concept systems.
• Work with sensors, connected devices, gateways, edge and cloud platforms.
• Explore AI/ML applications for IoT-generated data.
• Conduct experiments and evaluate system performance.
• Develop technical demonstrations for real-world applications.
• Contribute to research papers, technical reports and other research outputs.
• Explore technology development and commercialisation opportunities.
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers and industry professionals on technology initiatives.

Who Should Apply?

PhD or final-year PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, IoT, Robotics, AI/ML, Embedded Systems or a closely related STEM field.

Candidates with strong IoT expertise and working knowledge of AI are particularly encouraged to apply.

Experience with areas such as Python, C/C++, embedded systems, sensors, wireless communications, IoT platforms, edge/cloud computing, computer vision, digital twins or robotics will be valuable.

Postdoctoral Programme Details

Employment: Full-Time
Duration: 1–2 Years
Compensation: Paid Postdoctoral Programme
Location: Remote / Hybrid

Candidates who successfully complete one year of the Postdoctoral Programme will receive a Postdoctoral Programme Certificate.

There may also be an opportunity for extension or transition to a longer-term research or technical role, based on performance, business needs and mutual interest.
