Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack AWS Shopify Architect who combines hands-on development expertise with architecture leadership and strong business acumen. This is a key technical leadership role focused on building and scaling ecommerce solutions while partnering closely with Product, Marketing, Merchandising, and Engineering teams to drive business growth.

The ideal candidate will be an architect who remains actively involved in coding, solution design, and technical decision-making while mentoring development teams and identifying innovative technology opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Development

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise-scale ecommerce solutions on Shopify Plus.
• Build and maintain custom Shopify applications, themes, and integrations.
• Develop scalable full-stack applications using Node.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Create and support serverless applications using AWS Lambda and AWS cloud services.
• Design robust integrations with ERP, OMS, CRM, payment gateways, fulfillment platforms, and third-party services.
• Implement APIs, GraphQL services, webhooks, and microservices architectures.

Technical Leadership

• Act as the technical leader and architect for ecommerce initiatives.
• Provide architecture guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor developers and drive high-quality development standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend scalable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Business Partnership & Innovation

• Partner with Product, Marketing, and Merchandising teams to support ecommerce growth initiatives.
• Identify technology opportunities that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
• Assess and recommend ecommerce platforms, tools, and vendors.
• Drive adoption of AI-powered solutions across ecommerce and engineering functions.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in ecommerce application development and architecture.
• Deep expertise in Shopify Plus customization and development.
• Strong hands-on experience building custom Shopify applications.
• Advanced proficiency with:
• JavaScript
• TypeScript
• React.js
• Node.js
• Shopify Liquid
• Strong experience with AWS services, including serverless architectures and AWS Lambda.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, Webhooks, and system integrations.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams while remaining hands-on with development.
• Experience designing scalable and secure ecommerce architectures.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Matrixify data migration and automation tools.
• Salesforce integration or platform experience.
• Experience with OMS, ERP, CRM, payment, and fulfillment integrations.
• Knowledge of AI tools and AI-assisted software development.
• Experience using Claude Code or similar AI development platforms.
• Background working in high-growth ecommerce or direct-to-consumer (DTC) environments.
