About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining UDR’s network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role acts as the first escalation point for Network Administrators, handling complex troubleshooting and configuration tasks. The successful candidate will contribute to the planning and implementation of network projects, document network configurations and processes, and participate in rotating on-call support to ensure continuous network availability. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work with enterprise-grade technologies, expand technical expertise, and play a vital role in supporting the company’s digital infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum of two to five years of professional networking experience
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+ (preferred)
• Experience with Cisco, Ruckus, Palo Alto NGFW, F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers, Arista, and related networking platforms
• Proficiency with network protocols including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, IPsec VPNs, tunneling/encryption, and authentication methods (802.1X)
• Knowledge of DNS/DHCP, syslog, NetFlow, and network monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor and NetBox
• Familiarity with cloud and security solutions including Microsoft Azure networking and Zscaler
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve connectivity issues efficiently
• Excellent documentation and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the company’s network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security
• Act as the first escalation point for Network Administrators, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution of network issues
• Configure, support, and optimize network devices and platforms, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers
• Participate in network project planning, implementation, and testing to improve infrastructure capabilities
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures
• Perform routine network monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity planning
• Assist with the deployment and management of cloud-based networking solutions and security measures
• Contribute to on-call support rotations, providing after-hours assistance as needed
• Stay current with emerging networking technologies and industry best practices
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations
