Freelance Site/Civil Engineer for Grading & Drainage Design

GigBench has an active project for site civil design supporting a large single-family home on a large lot in Yorktown Heights, NY. The scope centers on grading and drainage design, including stormwater management planning, site layout, and drainage patterns appropriate to the property’s topography. This role requires coordination with the broader project team to ensure the site design integrates cleanly with the home’s overall construction plan, along with attention to local code and permitting considerations specific to Westchester County. This is a project-based freelance opportunity with an estimated duration of 1 to 3 months.

Responsibilities:

• Develop grading and drainage plans for a large residential lot
• Design stormwater management systems appropriate to site topography and local requirements
• Prepare site layout drawings reflecting property conditions and home placement
• Coordinate with the architectural and structural teams to align site design with overall construction plans
• Support permitting submissions with jurisdiction-specific documentation as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in residential-scale site civil design, grading, and drainage
• Familiarity with Westchester County, NY permitting and stormwater requirements
• Proficiency with civil design and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on a defined scope
