About the Opportunity

HummingBird is hiring Software Test Engineers on behalf of its client, a leading IT Services company based in Bangalore.

We are looking for skilled and detail-oriented Software Test Engineers to join the technology team. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and functionality of software applications through effective testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to understand testing needs.
• Develop detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Identify, document, track, and validate software defects using appropriate defect-management tools.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product teams, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Participate in test planning, estimation, and execution activities.
• Perform regression testing to ensure new changes do not impact existing functionality.
• Support test automation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency.
• Analyze test results and prepare testing reports and status updates.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure software releases meet defined quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Maintain clear and accurate testing documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) .
• Hands-on experience in functional and regression testing.
• Experience writing test cases, test scenarios, and defect reports.
• Good understanding of defect-management and test-management processes.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools .
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automation testing using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Programming/scripting experience in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Experience with API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent tools.
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Experience testing web-based and/or enterprise applications.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud will be an advantage.
• ISTQB certification is a plus.
