Network Automation Engineer – Nautobot
Location: Remote
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $70–$75/hour
Overview
Our client is seeking a Network Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience with Nautobot and enterprise network automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong networking background with experience building automation solutions and integrating network infrastructure with automation platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain network automation workflows using Nautobot .
- Automate network provisioning, configuration, migrations, and operational processes.
- Build integrations using REST APIs and external network management systems.
- Develop automation scripts using Python and other scripting languages.
- Automate and manage Cisco network infrastructure, including Cisco Nexus .
- Troubleshoot network automation and production infrastructure issues.
- Collaborate with network engineering and infrastructure teams to improve automation capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of network engineering/automation experience.
- Strong hands-on Nautobot experience.
- Strong Python development and scripting skills.
- Experience with REST APIs and network automation.
- Strong Cisco networking background, particularly Nexus .
- Solid understanding of BGP, VXLAN, SDN, routing, and switching .
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise production environments.
Preferred
- Experience with Ansible, Cisco NSO, DCNM, Git, Linux, Docker/Kubernetes , or similar automation technologies.
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
