Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking experienced healthcare operations professionals to join a 12-week AI training sprint as contract contributors. In this role, you will apply your domain expertise to evaluate, annotate, and improve AI-generated responses related to healthcare operations, medical coding and billing, utilization management, and related subject matter. You will also design and build challenging, realistic tasks that mirror the complex work of your profession — complete with scenarios, supporting files, and grading rubrics — used to evaluate and improve AI systems. Your work directly shapes the accuracy and reliability of AI tools used by healthcare professionals every day.
This is not a traditional healthcare ops role — no patient care, no shift work, no on-call rotations. Instead, you will be helping build better AI by putting your knowledge to work in a structured, flexible, fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to healthcare operations–related prompts for accuracy, clarity, and professional appropriateness
- Annotate and rank model outputs to guide AI training and improvement
- Write clear, expert-level answers to healthcare operations questions that serve as model training examples
- Flag errors, misconceptions, or ambiguous outputs and provide corrective guidance
- Propose, design, and build realistic tasks drawn from your own professional experience — including the scenario and prompt, realistic supporting input files, and a detailed rubric for grading AI performance
- Run your tasks against AI models and iterate based on expert reviewer feedback
- Follow detailed written instructions precisely, including document and upload format requirements
- Maintain consistent quality and throughput throughout the sprint engagement
Qualifications
- Demonstrated healthcare operations experience (medical coding and billing, health information management, utilization review, healthcare administration, or similar)
- Medical coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) not required, though preferred — practical expertise matters more than credentials
- Strong written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely
- Hands-on practitioner: you currently do (or recently did) this work at a detailed, individual-contributor level — not solely in a managerial capacity
- Careful reader of written instructions; receptive to feedback and revision cycles
- Baseline tech literacy: comfortable with cloud file tools (e.g., Google Workspace), managing browser profiles, downloading and installing desktop apps (e.g., Claude), and everyday file handling (e.g., converting between Excel and Google Sheets, zipping files for sharing)
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, self-directed environment
- Available to commit 30–40 hours per week for the full 12-week engagement
- Based in the United States, UK, or Canada
- Has a general understanding of LLM use / the AI landscape
Compensation & Terms
- Pay is $75/hr, translating to ~$2,250–$3,000/week, or approximately $27,000–$36,000 for the full sprint
- Paid on a regular cadence; contract position
- Fully remote — work from anywhere in the US, UK, or Canada
After the Sprint
Once the 12-week sprint concludes, you are under no obligation to continue. However, many contributors choose to keep working on projects on a flexible, project-by-project basis — choosing what to work on, when, and at whatever cadence fits their schedule.
What to Expect
- Apply through your agency link — your recruiter will walk you through the process
- Complete a 3–4 hour paid skills assessment ($240 flat rate). It tests both your subject-matter expertise and careful reading — take your time, and note that all work must be your own (no AI/LLM assistance)
- Onboard onto the platform and begin the 12-week sprint
- Propose a task from your professional experience; once your proposal is accepted, build it in full. A single task commonly takes several hours (often 4+), and every completed task goes through expert review
Each stage is a gate: work must be accepted before you move on. You are compensated for every step you complete, but not every submission will be accepted — feedback and revision are a normal part of the process, not a sign you’re failing.
Support will be available throughout: platform instructions, onboarding materials, the worker Slack, and office hours for your cohort.
