SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role

Elevate Education is working with schools across London to recruit enthusiastic, reliable and caring Teaching Assistants and SEN Teaching Assistants.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and helping them reach their full potential.

You may be supporting pupils in a classroom environment, working on a 1:1 basis, or providing additional support to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development
• Working alongside teachers and other education professionals
• Providing 1:1 or small-group support where required
• Helping create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting pupils who may have additional learning or behavioural needs
• Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement
• Following school safeguarding and behaviour policies

About You

We are interested in hearing from candidates who have:

• Experience working with children or young people
• A genuine interest in education and supporting children
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, reliability and a positive attitude
• The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable but not essential for every role

Relevant experience could include working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Nursery Practitioner, Childcare Worker, Tutor or similar.
