About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Human-Centered Design (HCD) and User Interface (UI) expert to join our dynamic team. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of user experience strategies, information architecture, and interface design for complex enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of related experience, demonstrating expertise in usability evaluation, usability testing tools, and designing intuitive, accessible interfaces. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create scalable, user-friendly solutions that meet strategic business needs while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. The role offers an opportunity to influence the entire user journey, from research and discovery to design and implementation, ensuring that our applications are efficient, accessible, and aligned with user needs and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• MA/MS degree with 10+ years of experience in information systems or related fields, or equivalent experience (HS with 16+ years, AA/AS with 14+ years, BA/BS with 12+ years, Doctorate with 9+ years)
• Extensive experience in developing and validating Information Architecture for complex enterprise applications
• Proficiency with front-end development frameworks, particularly ReactJS, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and Tailwind
• Strong background in UX, content strategy, and user-centered design best practices
• Experience conducting IA research methods such as card sorting, tree testing, and taxonomy evaluation
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma and usability testing tools
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience working within Agile and SAFe methodologies
• Strong project management and leadership abilities, with a portfolio demonstrating relevant work
• Ability to facilitate IA workshops and align cross-functional teams on design standards

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance in UX design, applying Human-Centered Design and design thinking methodologies, including user research, personas, journey mapping, prototyping, and usability evaluation
• Define and implement scalable Information Architecture, including navigation models, taxonomies, labeling systems, and content hierarchies that enhance discoverability and usability
• Create comprehensive User Experience (UX) Research Plans, documenting goals, methodologies, outcomes, and next steps for each use case
• Facilitate discovery activities such as user interviews, content reviews, IA assessments, accessibility evaluations, and data collection to inform design decisions
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure new tools and services integrate seamlessly into existing structures and standards
• Design and develop user interfaces for applications, ensuring they are visually appealing, intuitive, and accessible
• Provide detailed interface design specifications to development teams, including wireframes, prototypes, and interactive components
• Develop and maintain UX frameworks, templates, and IA standards to promote consistency across products
• Translate user research insights into detailed product requirements, epics, and user stories
• Conduct usability testing sessions, analyze feedback, and iterate designs accordingly
• Establish and uphold design and IA standards, ensuring consistency in navigation, terminology, and content organization
