Senior Lead Systems, Network & Security Administrator / Solutions Architect

About the role

• DBDriven is seeking a Senior Lead Systems, Network & Security Administrator / Solutions Architect with 10+ years of experience to join our team. This is a senior leadership position for an experienced technologist who can architect sound solutions, mentor a small team, and serve as a trusted technical voice with our clients. As the Senior Lead / Solutions Architect at DBDriven, you will guide technical direction across projects, lead and develop a team of systems, network, and security administrators, and help ensure our clients’ infrastructure and security needs are met with excellence.

What you’ll do

• Lead the Team: Manage and mentor a small team of systems, network, and security administrators, supporting their growth and technical development.
• Architect Solutions: Design and advise on infrastructure, network, and security solutions across Azure, AWS, hybrid environments, and enterprise databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Advise on Best Practices: Guide the team and clients on infrastructure architecture, security posture, and technical best practices.
• Scope Projects: Advise on project scope, technical approach, and solution design during proposal and planning phases.
• Engage Clients: Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients, driving requirements gathering, technical specifications, and documentation.
• Ensure Delivery: Oversee the successful technical delivery of services, ensuring quality, security, and client satisfaction across engagements.
• Own Security & Compliance: Provide senior-level oversight of security architecture, including WAF, network security, and M365 environments, ensuring alignment with best practices and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years in systems, network, and/or security administration, with demonstrated experience in a solutions architect or senior technical lead capacity.
• Leadership: Proven experience leading and mentoring a team, with the ability to develop junior and mid-level staff.
• Technical Depth: Deep hands-on expertise across Azure, AWS, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, WAF, network security, and Microsoft 365.
• Client-Facing Skills: Strong track record engaging directly with clients to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and guide solutions from concept to delivery.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to advise on project scope, solution architecture, and technical trade-offs at a senior level.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience producing clear technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field — equivalent professional experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.

Given the scope and client-facing nature of this role, relevant certifications are required or strongly preferred, such as:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• CompTIA Security+ (baseline, if pursuing higher-level certifications)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) — a plus, given the scope-advisory and client-delivery aspects of the role
