About The Role We are seeking a talented AI-First UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic Technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end UI/UX design process for fireclaytile.com, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and high-converting e-commerce experience. You will own the design workflow from concept development in Figma to building detailed, developer-ready specifications. Your expertise will extend to managing the Shopify Plus backend configuration, including products, collections, metafields, checkout processes, and navigation. Collaborating closely with our internal development team and growth marketing specialists, you will spearhead custom development projects, landing pages, and conversion rate optimization initiatives, leveraging AI tools to maximize productivity. This position reports directly to the VP of Technology and offers the flexibility of remote work within the United States. The role offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $150,000, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UI/UX design experience, particularly within e-commerce platforms
• Extensive experience working with Shopify Plus, including backend configuration and customization
• Proficiency in Figma for creating detailed, build-ready design specifications
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and Liquid to facilitate QA and small prototype changes
• Experience in the home category (tile, flooring, furniture, décor, or related fields) with an understanding of visual merchandising and purchase journeys
• Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage projects and coordinate remote or offshore developers
• Robust AI workflow and toolset, with demonstrated experience in integrating AI into design processes
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire UI/UX design process for fireclaytile.com, from initial concept to final build specifications
• Manage Shopify Plus backend setup, including products, collections, metafields, checkout configurations, and navigation
• Collaborate with internal developers on custom development projects, such as Salesforce/Shopify integrations and sample ordering systems
• Partner with Growth Marketing to develop landing pages, conduct CRO experiments, and improve site performance using AI tools like Claude
• Work closely with company leadership to align design strategies with market trends and business goals
• Ensure the website design is mobile-first, accessible, and optimized for speed and conversion
• Oversee and direct remote or offshore development teams to ensure design fidelity and project timelines
• Stay current with emerging AI tools and incorporate them into the design workflow to enhance efficiency and creativity
