Job Description

About the role

An AI & Software Engineering Intern role working on MRIx – Moisture Risk Intelligence, an industrial IIoT and AI platform designed to transform field sensor data into actionable risk intelligence for industrial assets. The intern will gain hands-on experience working on a real-world technology platform involving software development, AI, data analytics, IoT sensor integration, APIs, databases and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the development and improvement of the MRIx web-based platform and dashboard.
  • Develop and maintain frontend features using technologies such as React, Next.js, JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Assist with backend development using Python and FastAPI.
  • Work with PostgreSQL databases, including data storage, queries and data organization.
  • Assist in integrating IoT and LoRaWAN sensor data into the MRIx platform.
  • Work with MQTT data streams, APIs and sensor telemetry.
  • Help develop data-processing workflows for temperature, humidity, moisture and other industrial sensor parameters.
  • Support the development and testing of AI, analytics and risk-intelligence features.
  • Assist in developing charts, dashboards, alerts and data visualization features.
  • Test software features, identify bugs and support troubleshooting.

About you

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
  • Basic programming knowledge in at least one language, preferably Python, JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Basic understanding of web application development.
  • Familiarity with databases and basic SQL concepts.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Willingness to learn new programming languages, frameworks and development tools.
  • Available for an internship period of preferably 4–6 months.
  • Genuinely interested in AI, software engineering, IoT and emerging technologies.
  • Willing to learn unfamiliar technologies and solve problems independently.
