Principal Solution Architect – Microsoft Fabric & AI

Location: 100% Remote within the US
Duration: Long-Term Contract / Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of modern Data, Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Cloud, and AI solutions.

This is a highly technical and client-facing role suited to an experienced technology leader who can translate complex business requirements into scalable technical architectures, provide hands-on guidance, and lead distributed engineering teams through successful delivery.

You will work across architecture, solution design, technical leadership, proof of concepts, engineering best practices, and innovation, while helping shape modern data and AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to business stakeholders, technical leaders, and engineering teams.
• Design scalable and secure Data, Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, AI, and Cloud architectures aligned with business objectives.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, solution design, POCs, design reviews, troubleshooting, and development.
• Design and implement modern data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, and related analytics capabilities.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and delivery efficiency.
• Lead and coordinate distributed onshore/offshore engineering teams across complex initiatives.
• Establish engineering standards, architecture principles, development practices, and technical best practices.
• Mentor engineers and support the growth of technical capabilities within the team.
• Lead technical workshops, solution discussions, architecture reviews, and technical presentations.
• Contribute to proposals, technical estimates, solution approaches, and delivery planning.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, automation, cloud modernization, and AI adoption.
• Support the successful delivery of complex enterprise data and technology transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in technical leadership, solution architecture, consulting, or a similar senior technology role.
• Strong background in Data Engineering, Analytics, Cloud, Microsoft Fabric, and AI/Generative AI.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric components including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, and related analytics capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI and modern data platforms.
• Experience working with AI-assisted development tools and modern AI-enabled engineering practices.
• Proven experience leading distributed and/or onshore/offshore engineering teams.
• Strong architecture, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and practical technical solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or other modern cloud and data platforms.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, and Generative AI.
• Experience in cloud modernization and enterprise data transformation.
• Previous consulting experience, including proposals, RFPs, technical estimates, and solution presentations.
• Experience identifying opportunities for innovation, automation, and business growth.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and modern software engineering practices.

Pay: From $750.00 per day
