Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) is a sophisticated SIEM built on the Splunk data platform, supporting thousands of customers, users, and diverse deployment environments worldwide.

Our team builds and operates security detection capabilities that process massive volumes of data while focusing on performance, reliability, scalability, and quality. You’ll work with experienced engineers, architects, product leaders, and other cross-functional partners to solve complex security challenges and deliver meaningful customer value.

Your Impact

As a Software Engineer on the Splunk Enterprise Security team, you will design, develop, test, and deliver scalable cloud-native software that powers security detection capabilities. You will gain deep knowledge of product architecture and real-world deployment scenarios while contributing to solutions that operate at global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance global-scale security detection capabilities, optimizing for performance, reliability, scalability, and quality.
  • Design, code, test, and deliver scalable backend services using Golang and modern cloud technologies.
  • Develop and maintain software for distributed and cloud-native environments, including Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering management, product management, and other stakeholders on requirements, technical designs, and development plans.
  • Own assigned features and complex technical problems from design through implementation, automated testing, CI/CD, and delivery.
  • Review technical designs, documentation, and code to maintain high engineering and quality standards.
  • Apply automation, open-source technologies, cloud tools, and AI-assisted engineering practices to improve development and deliver innovative solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on application or backend development.
  • Hands-on experience developing scalable backend services using Golang.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman in containerized environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing software solutions using distributed systems and cloud-native architecture principles.
  • Experience with CI/CD, GitLab or equivalent CI/CD platforms, and automated testing frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience building security, SIEM, security detection, observability, or large-scale data platform solutions.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern microservices architectures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools or frameworks to improve software engineering productivity and deliver innovative solutions.
