Software Engineer - Full Stack (Trade Floor, AI Tooling, Python, Typescript) - Hedge Fund

Sartre Group are partnered with a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, looking to continue its growth and investment in technology. As part of this expansion, they are looking for an exceptional Software Engineer to join their London team.

This is a genuine full-stack engineering role embedded directly on the Equity L/S trading floor, where you’ll work closely with Traders and Portfolio Managers to identify opportunities to improve front-office workflows and build technology with direct commercial impact.

You’ll work on:

• Building AI-powered tools, including research copilots, intelligent summarisation, and data-extraction agents, directly into investment workflows.
• Working closely with Traders, Portfolio Managers, and Analysts to rapidly prototype solutions and iterate based on direct feedback.
• Integrating LLM APIs, agent frameworks, and RAG pipelines into production applications across TypeScript and Python.
• Owning projects end-to-end, from identifying opportunities through to building and deploying solutions into the hands of investment professionals.

They’re looking for:

• 3+ years’ professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on TypeScript skills and modern full-stack development experience.
• Experience with, or a strong interest in, LLM and AI application development, including APIs, prompting, agents, and RAG.
• Experience integrating Python-based backend services, with exposure to Bun, Elysia, PostgreSQL, Hono, or similar technologies beneficial.
• A genuine interest in the AI and developer ecosystem, with experience working closely with investment professionals or within a hedge fund/investment management environment preferred.
