Remote IT Network Enginee

Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Remote IT Network Engineer at DF Tech. The Network Engineer will be responsible for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Daily tasks include diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues, implementing network security best practices, and optimizing performance for distributed systems and remote users. The role also involves documenting network configurations, collaborating with other IT team members, and providing technical support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will work independently, manage tickets and tasks via online tools, and communicate effectively in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Network Administration and Network Engineering to configure, manage, and optimize network systems.
• Candidates should possess skills in Network Security to implement safeguards, monitor for threats, and maintain secure access controls.
• Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting and Information Technology to diagnose issues, resolve incidents, and support users effectively.
• Working knowledge of common networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Ability to work remotely with strong time management, documentation, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar) or equivalent practical experience are highly beneficial.
• Prior experience in remote or freelance IT support environments is a plus.
