Agentic AI Engineer - (Production Support, AWS Bedrock, Agentcore, MCP) - 100% Remote - Contract-to-Hire

Optomi, in partnership with a major US airline, is seeking an Agentic AI Engineer to fulfill a 12-month contract-to-hire with a client based in the DFW metroplex.

This role will focus on operationalizing, supporting, and scaling AI products and services in production, while helping establish the foundation for future Agentic AI capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong AI/Generative AI engineering, AWS, production operations, observability, and technical leadership experience. This individual will work across engineering, product, portfolio management, and support teams to ensure AI solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and production-ready.

Apply Today If Your Background Includes:

• Strong hands-on experience with AI/Generative AI engineering and production AI systems.
• Experience deploying, operationalizing, troubleshooting, or supporting AI/ML or GenAI applications in production.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud technologies, ideally including Bedrock, Lambda, S3, VPC, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with production operations, including observability, monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, and operational readiness.
• Strong software engineering experience with APIs, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, and cloud services.
• Demonstrated technical leadership with the ability to lead initiatives and mentor engineers.
• Experience building Agentic AI applications using AgentCore, LangGraph, Bedrock Agents, Strands, or similar frameworks ( preferred )
• Experience with MCP, tool/function calling, workflow orchestration, and Human-in-the-Loop patterns ( preferred )
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, semantic/hybrid search, and reranking ( preferred )
• Experience implementing LLM/AI evaluation frameworks, observability, tracing, and automated evals ( preferred )
• Knowledge of AI guardrails, PII protection, policy controls, and Responsible AI practices.
• Experience supporting applications within a 24/7 production environment and working with distributed support teams ( preferred )
