Job Location: Hyderabad

Role Overview We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright (TypeScript) , API Automation , and SQL , along with hands-on experience in Azure DevOps . The ideal candidate must have solid leadership experience , capable of driving automation strategy, mentoring teams, and ensuring high-quality deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the test automation strategy using Playwright with TypeScript.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust UI automation frameworks.
  • Build and execute API automation tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, Product Owners, DevOps) to ensure quality at every stage.
  • Analyze requirements and define test scenarios, test cases, and automation strategies.
  • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Perform database validation using SQL queries.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
  • Ensure best practices in test automation, code quality, and reporting.
  • Monitor test execution, debug failures, and provide root cause analysis.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in Playwright with TypeScript
  • Expertise in UI test automation frameworks
  • Experience in API automation (RESTful services)
  • Good knowledge of SQL / Database testing
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, test management)
  • Strong understanding of automation design patterns and best practices
  • Leadership experience (must-have) – handling teams, mentoring, and delivery ownership

Good to Have

  • Experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)
  • Knowledge of performance testing basics
  • Exposure to cloud environments (Azure preferred)
  • Experience in version control tools like Git
