Staff AI Engineer (Remote Eligible)

For our client, we are seeking a Staff AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will help shape advanced AI capabilities that support scalable software solutions and drive innovation across the organization. You will collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to design, test, and optimize AI systems that improve model performance and operational outcomes. The position also plays an important role in translating technical direction into practical platform and roadmap decisions for foundational AI initiatives.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $244,700 – $279,200 annually

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and product managers to develop AI products
• Design and test AI software components for model training and evaluation
• Utilize a variety of open source and SaaS AI technologies
• Develop state-of-the-art optimization techniques for large-scale AI systems
• Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI with 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience
• 8+ years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java
• Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, influencing stakeholders up to the VP level
• Expertise in developing AI systems, including LLM inference and optimization techniques
