About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Staff AI Engineer to join our remote-eligible team at LinkUp. In this pivotal role, you will partner with cross-functional teams including research scientists, software engineers, product managers, and technical program managers to develop and deploy cutting-edge AI systems. Your expertise will directly influence the design, development, and implementation of foundational AI models, large language models, and scalable AI infrastructure. You will be instrumental in advancing our AI capabilities, optimizing large-scale AI systems, and ensuring responsible AI practices are integrated into our products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI innovation, shaping solutions that transform industries and improve user experiences globally.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with extensive experience in AI and machine learning development. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, coupled with at least 8 years of hands-on experience in developing AI algorithms and systems, is required. Alternatively, candidates with a Master’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience will also be considered. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java is essential. Preferred qualifications include experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, and a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams. Deep knowledge of AI model optimization, large language models, vector databases, and responsible AI practices is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences are also important.

Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver AI-powered products that enhance both customer experience and internal workflows. You will design, develop, test, and support AI software components such as foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, and model governance. Leveraging open-source and SaaS AI technologies like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch, you will invent and implement state-of-the-art optimization techniques to improve system performance, scalability, latency, and cost-efficiency. You will contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of LinkUp’s foundational AI systems, ensuring they adhere to responsible AI standards. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, influence cross-team initiatives, and stay abreast of the latest AI research to judiciously apply innovative techniques in production environments. Your work will directly impact the development of scalable, responsible, and high-performance AI solutions that serve millions of users worldwide.
