Director of Operations — Early-Stage AI Startup (Remote)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Operations to lead the operational functions of an innovative early-stage AI startup. This remote leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the company’s growth trajectory by implementing operational excellence initiatives, streamlining business processes, and driving scalable organizational change. As a key member of the executive team, you will oversee business development management, financial planning, and large-scale project execution to ensure the company’s strategic objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively. Duties

• Develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies aligned with the company’s vision and growth goals.
• Lead business development efforts by identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding customer base.
• Oversee business operations including process improvement initiatives, project management, and operational analysis to optimize efficiency.
• Manage budgets meticulously, including forecasting, financial management, profit and loss analysis, and executive-level budget oversight.
• Drive large-scale organizational change management initiatives to support rapid growth and evolving business needs.
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership to establish strategic planning frameworks and implement operational policies that support scalable growth.
• Supervise cross-functional teams, providing leadership in management practices, performance evaluation, and staff development.
• Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision making, enhance operational performance, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of operational excellence across all departments.
• Service the sales team
• You will operate the company at the founders direction and be accountable

Requirements

• Proven experience in operational management within a high-growth startup or technology environment.
• Demonstrated success in leading business development management and executing strategic plans at an executive level.
• Strong background in change management, process improvement, and large-scale organizational change initiatives.
• Expertise in financial management including budgeting, forecasting, profit/loss analysis, and operational analysis.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with executives and diverse stakeholders.
• Extensive experience supervising teams at senior leadership levels with a focus on operational excellence initiatives.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies to oversee complex programs from inception to completion.
• Skilled in data-driven decision making to optimize business operations and support strategic growth initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering results.
