Job Description

Graphic Designer / UI/UX Specialist

Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Creative & Product Design

About the Role

We are looking for a creative, innovative, and highly skilled Graphic Designer / UI/UX Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate is someone who combines strong visual design skills with excellent UI/UX thinking and can turn ideas into modern, engaging, and intuitive digital experiences. You should be passionate about creating designs that not only look exciting but also provide a seamless experience for users.

You will be responsible for designing modern websites, mobile applications, digital products, marketing materials, and other visual assets that strengthen our brand and deliver an exceptional user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design modern, visually compelling, and responsive websites and web pages.
  • Create intuitive and engaging UI/UX designs for mobile and web applications.
  • Develop wireframes, user flows, prototypes, mockups, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Translate business requirements and ideas into creative digital experiences.
  • Design landing pages, dashboards, forms, navigation systems, and other digital interfaces.
  • Develop visual concepts, graphics, illustrations, banners, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure designs are responsive and optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
  • Conduct basic user research and incorporate usability principles into designs.
  • Maintain consistency across our brand, websites, applications, and digital platforms.
  • Stay up to date with current UI/UX, web design, typography, interaction design, and digital design trends.
  • Review existing products and recommend improvements to their visual appeal and user experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar role.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating modern website and mobile application designs.
  • Demonstrated experience creating exciting, contemporary, and user-friendly web interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, user journeys, information architecture, and responsive design.
  • Excellent knowledge of typography, colour theory, layout, composition, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience designing interfaces for iOS, Android, and web applications.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, Sketch, or equivalent design software.
  • Ability to create prototypes and communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS and how designs translate into functional websites is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for aesthetics.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with developers, product teams, and management.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

The Ideal Candidate

You are more than someone who can “make things look good.” You understand why a design works.

You have a strong creative instinct, but you can also think from the user’s perspective. You are comfortable taking a rough idea and transforming it into a polished digital experience.

You should be able to look at an outdated website or app and immediately identify opportunities to make it cleaner, more modern, more engaging, and easier to use.

What You Will Bring

  • Creativity: Fresh ideas and the confidence to challenge conventional design.
  • User-Centred Thinking: Designs that solve real user problems.
  • Visual Excellence: Strong sense of aesthetics and attention to detail.
  • Technical Awareness: An understanding of how digital designs are developed and implemented.
  • Versatility: Ability to work across websites, mobile apps, branding, social media, and other digital products.
  • Curiosity: A desire to continuously learn and stay ahead of design trends.
