Medical Writer - Remote Contract (Clinical Data & AI Research)

About the Role

NeonLabs is collaborating with a leading AI lab to engage senior medical writers for a clinical research project.

You will own work across two workflows: generating and validating high-quality synthetic clinical trial data, and authoring full clinical study report sections while designing the prompts, reference outputs, and rubrics used to measure an AI agent attempting the same work.

This is a remote, asynchronous contract suited to writers comfortable with long-horizon, full-document authorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and validate high-quality synthetic clinical trial data.
• Author complete clinical study report sections to publication standard.
• Design prompts, reference outputs, and rubrics that quantify AI performance on authorship tasks.
• Review AI-generated clinical documents for scientific and regulatory accuracy.
• Collaborate asynchronously with the research team.

Ideal Qualifications

• 5+ years of medical writing experience required; 10 to 25 years preferred.
• PhD or equivalent qualification.
• Hands-on experience with pre-market (Phase 1 to 3) clinical trial data and report authorship.
• Comfortable with full-document, long-horizon authorship.
• Based in the United States, Canada, or France.
• Availability of at least 20 to 25 hours per week; 30+ preferred.

Compensation & Contract Terms

• Rate: $90 - $150 per hour (USD).
• Type: Independent Contractor.
• Payments: Weekly via Stripe or Wise.
• Schedule: 20 to 25 hours per week minimum, remote, and asynchronous.
• Contract Duration: Variable based on needs and performance (projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early).
