Job Overview

We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer – PHP / Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) with strong hands-on experience in PHP, Magento 2, APIs, GraphQL, event-driven architecture, cloud services, and backend performance optimization . The ideal candidate will work closely with the Architect, lead implementation efforts, mentor engineers, and support production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and extend Magento 2 APIs, GraphQL resolvers, modules, services, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers .
• Build REST/GraphQL APIs and backend service layers .
• Integrate with Catalog, Pricing, Inventory, Promotions, PIM, ERP, and OMS platforms.
• Implement event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ or similar messaging platforms .
• Work with AWS/cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, and observability .
• Optimize Magento performance including indexing, database load, caching, asynchronous processing, and high-volume workloads .
• Build middleware/adapters to support phased commerce migrations .
• Perform automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, debugging, and production support .
• Provide technical leadership and mentor development teams .
• Partner closely with the Architect on implementation and technical decisions.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento 2 expertise.
• Deep experience with Magento APIs, GraphQL, modules, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message queues .
• Strong REST API and GraphQL development experience.
• Experience integrating PIM, ERP, OMS, catalog, pricing, inventory, and promotions systems.
• Strong RabbitMQ / event-driven architecture experience.
• Experience with AWS/cloud-native services .
• Strong knowledge of Magento performance optimization and distributed systems .
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, Git, debugging, and production support .
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
