1. The maximum CTC is 6 LPA. This is a firm ceiling. If your expected CTC is above 6 LPA, please do not applyyou will waste your time and ours.
2. You must have 25 years of hands-on software development experience. This is not a fresher or trainee position.
3. You must be strong in Python, SQL, backend development and data automation.
4. Your workday must begin at 8:30 AM IST. You must also be available for occasional evening meetings with US stakeholders.
5. Shortlisted candidates must complete a short technical exercise and provide a recorded walkthrough of software they have personally built.

About the role

We are hiring a backend and data automation engineer who can independently turn complicated business requirements into reliable production software.

You will build systems that collect data from different sources, apply explainable business rules, automate recurring decisions and give human operators clear visibility into what happened and why.

This is not a prompt-engineering, no-code or prototype-only position. You must be able to build and maintain real software involving APIs, databases, scheduled jobs, data pipelines, queues, tests, monitoring and failure recovery.

You will use AI coding agents extensively, but you will remain responsible for the architecture, security and correctness of everything you ship.

What you will be expected to deliver

• Convert ambiguous business processes into clear technical requirements and working software.
• Build reliable backend services, APIs, data pipelines and scheduled workers.
• Combine operational and analytical data from multiple external systems.
• Design deterministic rule and decision engines whose outputs can be explained and reproduced.
• Build safeguards that prevent incorrect or stale data from triggering unsafe actions.
• Implement queues, retries, idempotency, reconciliation and complete audit histories.
• Model operational data in PostgreSQL and analytical data in BigQuery or a similar warehouse.
• Build internal dashboards or lightweight interfaces when required.
• Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot and maintain the systems you build.
• Document important architecture, data models and operating procedures.
• Build multiple internal automation productsnot only one application.

The systems you may work on

• Third-party API and data-provider integrations.
• High-volume analytical data and complex SQL transformations.
• Hourly and daily background jobs.
• Rule hierarchies, overrides and conflict detection.
• Immutable event and decision records.
• Data-freshness validation and circuit breakers.
• Transactional state, concurrency controls and idempotent actions.
• Dashboards for configuration, monitoring and exception handling.
• AI-assisted investigation and operational workflows.
• Production alerts, failed jobs and incomplete or contradictory data.

You do not need prior experience in our specific business domain. You do need the engineering discipline to learn it and represent it correctly in software.

Mandatory requirements

• 25 years of professional software development experience.
• A completed B.Tech degree.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or another production relational database.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience building scheduled jobs, workers or asynchronous processing systems.
• Ability to design clean data models and maintain data integrity.
• Experience with automated testing, debugging, Git and code reviews.
