Job Title: Backend Python Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Python Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain reliable and scalable backend systems and applications. The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in Python, experience developing APIs and working with databases, and the ability to collaborate effectively with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and other technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve backend applications and services using Python.
• Design and develop secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs.
• Build and integrate backend services with frontend applications and third-party systems.
• Work with databases to design schemas, write queries, and optimize database performance.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and other application security measures.
• Write clean, reusable, well-documented, and maintainable code.
• Conduct unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of backend applications.
• Identify and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services where required.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to system architecture decisions.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain backend applications in development and production environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Backend Developer or Python Developer.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and web services.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Knowledge of database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub/GitLab and version control.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and coding best practices.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Django REST Framework or FastAPI.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Redis, Celery, or message queues.
• Experience developing microservices.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure coding practices.

Pay: ₦200,000.00 - ₦250,000.00 per month
