Job Description
The PCB Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard techniques and DFM best practices to support novel control systems and power converters for wireless power applications. This role spans EMC/EMI-compliant power electronic designs from watts to kilowatts, and requires close collaboration with power electronics and mechanical engineering teams. Reporting directly to the CTO, this engineer will play a foundational role in shaping hardware development as the company grows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Complete schematic as well as single and multilayer PCB designs for control and converter designs for high-frequency and high-power density applications.
● Develop new symbols and footprints for custom parts using Altium Designer.
● Update Bill of Materials (BOM) and testing plans for empirical verification of designs.
● Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on EMC/EMI compliance, thermal management, manufacturing, and mechanical integration to improve PCB design and system robustness.
● Routinely update the CTO on project status, design improvements, and other recommendations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
● 2+ years of full-time experience in PCB design using Altium Designer.
● Demonstrated experience in board layout for high-density power electronics and analog circuit designs.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
● US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (required).
● Ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment, make effective and timely decisions, and drive organizational and procedural improvements.
● Genuine passion for wireless power technology and building a world where battery state is no longer a concern.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
● Prior experience in automotive, power tools, or aerospace industries.
● Prior experience designing megahertz switching converter designs.
● Prior experience developing PCB designs for high-volume production products.
● Prior experience working at a startup or early-stage company.
WHAT SETS THIS ROLE APART
● Own critical PCB design challenges at a company building breakthrough wireless power technology.
● Collaborate across power electronics, mechanical, and systems engineering in a tight-knit team.
● Broad scope — design, layout, validate, and iterate with real ownership from day one.
● Ground-floor opportunity at a high-growth deep-tech startup with direct CTO access and outsized impact.
