Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Java Principal/Architect Engineer to join our team in Downtown Toronto. This is a hands-on engineering position where you will be responsible for designing the architecture and writing production code for distributed systems.

• Event-driven architecture
• GitHub Copilot and LLM-powered development workflows

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement production-grade distributed systems.
• Develop and maintain event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Utilize AWS services for compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
• Support ML inference pipelines, including data normalization and model-serving integrations.
• Turn unclear business goals into technical architecture.
• Work at startup speed with evolving requirements.

Required Skills:

• Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, APIs, and microservices.
• Proficiency in AWS services.
• Experience with greenfield or zero-to-one product development.
• Ability to work with GitHub Copilot and agentic coding tools.
• Experience with edge computing, CDN execution, and security platforms is strongly preferred.
