About the Project:

We are recruiting for a key NYC Government software modernization initiative focused on developing and modernizing technology solutions for a public-sector agency.

This is a 10-month, milestone-driven engagement offering experienced consultants the flexibility of a part-time schedule while contributing to a high-impact government technology project.

The engagement is approximately 14–15 hours per week , with 480 total hours budgeted across the contract. The role is deliverable-driven, with occasional in-person attendance required for major project milestones and key check-ins.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer who can contribute across the entire application stack — from backend API and microservice development to responsive frontend interfaces, databases, enterprise search, and DevOps.

You will work on modernizing applications and building scalable solutions using Python, React/Angular, PostgreSQL/MySQL, enterprise search technologies, Docker, CI/CD, and Linux/UNIX environments .

What You Will Do:

• Backend Development: Design, architect, and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Python, Flask, or Django .
• Frontend Development: Build responsive and high-performance user interfaces using JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3 , and React or Angular .
• Database Development: Design and maintain database models and solutions using PostgreSQL or MySQL .
• Enterprise Search: Integrate search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene to support public-record querying and search functionality.
• DevOps & Deployment: Containerize services using Docker and contribute to CI/CD pipeline configuration and implementation.
• Linux/UNIX Development: Work within Linux/UNIX environments and develop operational scripts using Bash/Shell scripting .
• Application Modernization: Contribute to scalable, maintainable, and reliable public-sector applications.
• Project Collaboration: Work with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver defined project milestones.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: 8+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
• Technical Expertise: Strong experience with Python, Flask/Django, JavaScript, React/Angular, HTML5, and CSS3 .
• Database Knowledge: Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL .
• Search Technologies: Experience with Elasticsearch, Solr, and/or Lucene .
• DevOps: Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Linux/UNIX, and Bash/Shell scripting .
• Senior-Level Ownership: Ability to independently design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver full-stack solutions.
• Government/Public Sector: Experience with government, public-sector, or large-scale modernization initiatives is a plus.
• C2C Requirement: Must be able to work on a Corp-to-Corp / Own Corporation basis.
• Work Authorization: US Citizens (USC) or Green Card (GC) Holders ONLY.
• Location: Candidates must be based in the NYC Metro area and able to attend required in-person project milestones.
