About the Role

Discovery no longer lives only in search results - a growing share happens inside AI-generated answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, and Google AI Overviews. We’re looking for a Lead Digital Strategist who can run a full-service digital program end-to-end (SEO, content, paid media, social, email, web/CRO, analytics, reputation) and own the AI search layer (AEO/GEO) that most agencies still treat as an afterthought.

What You’ll Do

• Own overall digital strategy and budget allocation across SEO, content, PPC, social, email, web/CRO, analytics, and reputation for a portfolio of accounts
• Lead AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategy - AI citation tracking, LLM visibility, and entity/schema work across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, and Google AI Overviews
• Ensure content and technical SEO foundations work for both traditional rankings and AI retrieval
• Build unified reporting that connects traditional channel performance with AI search visibility in one narrative
• Act as the senior strategist in client conversations, and mentor specialists as the team’s AI search practice matures

What You Bring

• 6+ years in digital marketing, overseeing multiple channels (agency background strongly preferred)
• Working knowledge of how LLMs retrieve, weight, and cite sources, or the ability to get up to speed fast
• Strong grasp of structured data/schema and entity understanding across Google and AI platforms
• Track record owning senior client relationships across a full program, not just one channel
• Fluency with core marketing tools (GA4, GSC, Ahrefs/Semrush, paid media platforms, ESP) and openness to newer AI-visibility tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

• Direct people/channel-lead management experience
• Background in technical SEO or web/CRO
• Familiarity with how AI models generate and source answers
