Head of Legal | AI & Enterprise Software

A high-growth AI company is seeking its first dedicated legal hire to build and lead the legal function. The business develops AI-powered workflow tools used by leading private equity firms, consultants, and other institutional investors, and is already a profitable, international organisation serving a blue-chip customer base.

This is a unique opportunity to operate as a strategic business partner to the founders, taking ownership of commercial legal matters while helping shape the company’s approach to AI governance, privacy, compliance, and scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading negotiation of complex enterprise commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, MSAs, data processing agreements, licensing arrangements, and security-related terms.
• Building and managing the company’s legal, compliance, privacy, and AI governance frameworks.
• Advising on global data privacy matters, including GDPR, UK GDPR, and US privacy regulations.
• Partnering closely with product, engineering, security, and go-to-market teams on legal and regulatory issues tied to AI products and data use.
• Supporting corporate governance, financing activities, IP strategy, employment matters, and broader business operations as the company scales internationally.

What They’re Looking For

• US-qualified attorney with approximately 8+ years of experience across private practice and in-house environments.
• Significant experience at a SaaS, AI, or data-intensive technology company.
• Strong background in commercial contracting and negotiating with large enterprise customers.
• Deep knowledge of privacy and data governance frameworks.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic, and excited by the challenge of building a legal function from the ground up.
