Job Description
The Senior Application Developer architects, builds, and maintains cloud-native applications and AI-powered solutions using C#, .NET, and Microsoft Azure. This role blends enterprise application development with the design and implementation of AI features and autonomous AI agents that automate business workflows, and carries technical leadership expectations — setting standards, mentoring developers, and driving architectural decisions.
The ideal candidate operates with a high degree of autonomy, exercises sound technical judgment, and leads by example to help the team meet project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop robust, scalable, production-grade applications in C# using .NET / .NET Core
- Lead the design, integration, and deployment of AI-powered features and AI agents that automate tasks, reason over enterprise data, and augment workflows
- Design and orchestrate AI solutions using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, and agent frameworks (Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework/AutoGen, or OpenAI/Anthropic SDKs)
- Implement RAG, prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and vector search to ground AI on enterprise content
- Set engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level developers
- Partner with stakeholders and architects to translate business requirements into technical designs and roadmaps
- Integrate AI capabilities responsibly, addressing security, privacy, evaluation, and governance throughout
Qualifications
- Deep, demonstrable expertise building production applications in C# with .NET / .NET Core
- Proven experience building or integrating AI/LLM solutions — prompt engineering, tool calling, RAG, and model APIs (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or similar)
- Hands-on AI agent development experience — agents that plan, call tools, maintain context, and execute multi-step tasks (Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, AutoGen, or LangChain-style orchestration)
- Strong Azure development experience: App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, Storage Accounts, Azure DevOps pipelines
- Strong Azure SQL/T-SQL experience (database objects, stored procedures, UDFs, integrated security); familiarity with vector stores (Azure AI Search, Cosmos DB) a plus
- Solid DevOps/CI-CD and Git version control skills, including branching and release management
- Proficiency in Visual Studio and/or VS Code
- Full SDLC mastery — architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation — with security embedded throughout
- Experience integrating RESTful and SOAP APIs with vendor and enterprise systems
- Demonstrated technical leadership: mentoring, architectural ownership, driving best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to rapidly learn emerging technologies, especially in AI
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
