Location: Summit, NJ (Hybrid)
Job Type: Contract
We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead / Architect with strong expertise in .NET, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, AI-assisted development, and Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance .
This is a technical leadership role for someone who can work directly with business stakeholders, architect solutions, build POCs/MVPs, mentor developers, and still write production-quality code.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with brokers, underwriting, operations, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Rapidly design and build POCs and MVPs using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Cursor
- Provide architecture and technical direction across .NET, Azure, and Databricks
- Lead, mentor, and conduct design/code reviews for development teams
- Develop production-quality applications using C#/.NET
- Build and integrate data products using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Spark
- Drive adoption of AI coding tools and establish SDLC best practices and quality controls
- Apply P&C Insurance knowledge across submissions, quoting, binding, policy administration, claims, reinsurance, and ACORD standards
Must-Have Skills
✔ 10+ years of software engineering experience
✔ Strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET Core/.NET 6+, ASP.NET, Web APIs, and Entity Framework
✔ Strong experience with Microsoft Azure – App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault, and Azure DevOps
✔ Hands-on Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and notebooks experience
✔ Strong Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain experience
✔ Experience using Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development tools in real software delivery
✔ Proven technical leadership and developer mentoring experience
✔ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
