Job Description
PART-TIME DESIGN ASSISTANT
Molly Lee Interior Design · South Bay, CA · Remote Friendly · 10–20 hrs/week
ABOUT MOLLY LEE INTERIOR DESIGN
Molly Lee Interior Design is a South Bay-based interior design studio specializing in full, custom furnishings — from paint and lighting to drapery, custom upholstery, and every carefully sourced piece in between. No construction, no shortcuts. Just beautifully considered rooms designed for the people who actually live in them.
Molly’s aesthetic is warm, layered, and unmistakably hers — rooted in Palos Verdes architecture, California light, and a deep commitment to quality over quantity. She works with antiques, one-of-a-kind finds, and custom-fabricated pieces to create rooms that feel collected over time rather than assembled overnight. If you walk into a Molly Lee room, you know it. That is the standard.
She is looking for someone who gets it — and who wants to be part of building something exceptional.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated Design Assistant to support Molly across both the creative and operational sides of the business. This is a part-time position — 10 to 20 hours per week — with flexibility in scheduling. South Bay or greater Los Angeles candidates are preferred, though the role is largely remote.
This is not a junior errand role. It is an opportunity to work closely with an established designer on real projects, learn the rhythm of a high-touch custom furnishings practice, and grow within a studio that is actively expanding.

Clear, professional written communication — you will be interfacing with vendors and occasionally clients
–
A genuine interest in traditional, elevated interior design — you should appreciate the difference between a well-sourced antique and a catalog piece

Ability to work independently and manage your own time with minimal supervision
–
Experience in an interior design studio is a plus but not required — the right attitude and skill set matters more
