The role will serve as a key liaison between NYU IT and project stakeholders, helping ensure that ITS infrastructure is properly planned, designed, procured, installed, documented, and transitioned into operations. Particular emphasis will be placed on maintaining NYU IT standards, protecting the integrity of the University’s technology infrastructure, and ensuring that project deliverables meet established technical, operational, and quality requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Provide project management and technical support to NYU personnel in the planning, coordination, and implementation of ITS-related components of capital projects, renovations, new construction, and infrastructure initiatives.
- Participate in project meetings with architects, electrical engineers, consultants, NYU project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that NYU IT requirements, technology standards, and infrastructure needs are incorporated into project designs.
- Develop, review, and contribute to Statements of Work (SOWs), technical specifications, and project documentation utilizing NYU Communications standards and requirements for competitive bidding and procurement.
- Maintain, update, and ensure the accuracy of project databases, tracking systems, and related documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with the review and validation of project invoices, billing, change orders, and related financial documentation to ensure alignment with approved scopes of work and contracted services.
- Assess project requirements and recommend appropriate staffing resources, technical expertise, and vendor support necessary to successfully execute projects.
- Maintain and update NYU IT infrastructure databases, including communications, wireless, structured cabling, and IP camera systems, ensuring that project records and infrastructure information remain current and accurate.
- Participate in the development, review, and recommendation of ITS Communications standards, guidelines, and best practices for NYU global projects and facilities.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings with NYU personnel, construction project managers, telecommunications and structured cabling vendors, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders as required.
- Review contractor and vendor bids, evaluate technical and operational responses, and provide recommendations to support the selection of qualified vendors and contractors.
- Monitor project progress and coordinate with stakeholders to identify risks, resolve technical issues, and ensure ITS deliverables remain aligned with project schedules and NYU IT requirements.
- Review project designs, drawings, specifications, and documentation to identify potential conflicts, gaps, or deficiencies that may impact NYU IT infrastructure or operations.
- Support the transition of completed project infrastructure into NYU IT operations by ensuring appropriate documentation, records, and infrastructure information are captured and maintained. -…
