Job Description
Studio J.E.D. Internship
Studio J.E.D. is looking for a thoughtful, hardworking intern to join our Brooklyn ceramics studio 1–2 days per week.
Ideally have 4+ years ceramic experience (throwing ideal!) but open to someone with some ceramics experience excited to learn
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in ceramics, furniture and lighting design, and the behind-the-scenes process of growing a creative small business. Interns will work closely with Jen and the studio team and gain experience with both the making and day-to-day operations of the studio.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with ceramic production and hand-building
- Glazing, sanding, finishing, and preparing work for firing
- Studio organization and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace
- Packing and preparing finished pieces
- Assisting with lighting and furniture projects
- Helping with photography, samples, inventory, and other studio projects as needed
Commitment: Ideally a minimum of 3 months, 1–2 consistent days per week. We are open to a 2-month commitment for the right person.
The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with their hands, and genuinely excited to learn. Previous ceramics experience is helpful but not required—we care most about a strong work ethic, curiosity, and a willingness to jump in and help.
This is a great opportunity for a student, recent graduate, artist, or designer who wants an inside look at how a growing ceramic design studio operates while developing practical studio skills.
