Role: AWS Cloud Engineer / Cloud Consultant

• Role Responsibilities:

• Identity & Access Management (IAM):

• Create and manage AWS IAM users, groups, and roles.
• Implement the principle of least privilege.
• Manage AWS credentials and access policies.

• Enable and manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

• Resource & Compute Management:

• Launch, configure, and manage Amazon EC2 instances.
• Manage Amazon S3 storage resources.
• Provision and configure AWS resources based on operational requirements.

• Monitor resource utilization and performance.

• Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Use Amazon CloudWatch to monitor server health and infrastructure performance.
• Track CPU utilization, disk usage, and other critical metrics.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.

• Proactively address infrastructure issues to minimize downtime.

• Security & Compliance:

• Establish security boundaries and implement AWS security controls.
• Configure Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), security groups, and network controls.
• Implement firewall and security configurations.
• Use AWS CloudTrail for activity logging, auditing, and compliance monitoring.

• Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the AWS environment.

• Backup & Disaster Recovery:

• Design and implement automated, cost-effective backup solutions.
• Develop disaster recovery strategies to support business continuity.
• Design resilient solutions across multiple AWS regions.

• Regularly assess backup and recovery processes.

• Cost Management & FinOps:

• Monitor and analyze AWS cloud spending using AWS Cost Explorer.
• Identify and eliminate idle or underutilized resources.
• Optimize AWS infrastructure for cost efficiency.
• Apply FinOps practices to improve cloud financial management.

• Work with stakeholders to balance cloud performance, reliability, and cost.
