Design Lead Manager, Instagram Business

We’re looking for a design leader to shape the next chapter of Instagram Business — a team focused on Instagram’s business and revenue products. This is a rare hybrid role where you’ll both lead a design team and personally drive some of the most ambiguous, high-impact work in the organization. Success in this role will be measured by the incremental revenue you unlock through smarter, more integrated and high-quality craft feed and ad experiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a small design team, ensuring that the team delivers against its goals
• Drive innovation by inventing new, ad formats and evolving the feed surface to make ads feel more native and delightful
• Tackle ambiguity head-on — from concept to execution — bringing clarity and creativity to uncharted problem spaces
• Provide execution oversight across team projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and alignment with business goals

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Product Design
• 2+ years of design leadership experience
• 6+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content, and user research teams
• Experience in building and shipping applications or software across a variety of platforms
• Experience leading product direction and strategic thinking with the experience of developing product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to people and the company
• Experience representing work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly communicating the goals and concepts
• A portfolio that demonstrates relevant work, an understanding of best practices in product design and a track record of shipping high-quality products

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience with business-to-consumer marketplaces
• 1 year with direct reports under your guidance
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience designing on mobile for large-scale consumer apps
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

Compensation $170,000/year to $236,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
