URGENT: Java Developer – NYC – Contract – Hybrid

Duties

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend systems using Java and related frameworks such as Spring Boot and React Express.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs to support web and mobile applications, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define system architecture, and deliver robust solutions aligned with business goals.
• Conduct system design activities utilizing UML diagrams and system modeling techniques to ensure clear architecture planning.
• Participate actively in Agile software development cycles, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and perform debugging to ensure code quality and reliability across distributed systems.
• Manage version control using GitHub, SVN, or TFS while adhering to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices.
• Optimize database interactions with SQL (T-SQL), PL/SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB for efficient data retrieval and storage.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps to streamline deployment processes.
• Contribute to system design discussions focusing on scalability, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and application performance enhancements.

Skills

• Extensive experience with Java development including multithreading, object-oriented programming (OOP), and application design principles.
• Strong knowledge of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Bootstrap, XSLT, JSON, XML, ReactJS, Node.js, and RESTful API services.
• Proficiency in front-end development frameworks like React along with UI/UX best practices for creating engaging user interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS or Azure for deploying scalable applications in distributed computing environments.
• Knowledge of software engineering methodologies including Agile/Scrum practices and SDLC processes for efficient project delivery.
• Experience with version control systems including GitHub, SVN, TFS for source code management.
• Ability to develop and maintain backend systems using.NET technologies (ASP.NET , WCF) along with web services (SOAP/REST).
• Skills in system design for high availability and scalability; familiarity with UML diagrams for architecture planning.
• Competence in debugging complex issues across distributed systems while ensuring optimal performance through unit testing and code reviews.
